About ThePriceChart
Who We Are
ThePriceChart is an independent comparison platform focused on precious metals and commodities trading. We provide live price charts, factual platform comparisons, and educational content to help traders and investors make informed decisions about where to trade assets like gold (XAUUSD) and silver (XAGUSD).
We are not affiliated with any broker, exchange, or financial institution. Our comparisons include both traditional Forex brokers and cryptocurrency exchanges because the modern trading landscape spans both categories. A trader evaluating gold or silver should be able to compare an FCA-regulated Forex broker and a crypto exchange on the same page, using the same data points.
We operate independently and are funded through affiliate commissions earned when users sign up for trading platforms through our referral links. This funding model allows us to provide all content and comparison data free of charge.
Our Methodology
Transparency about how we gather and present data is central to our credibility. Below is a detailed overview of our process.
Data Collection
We collect platform data from the following sources:
- Official platform websites — fees, spreads, minimum deposits, and regulatory information are sourced from each platform's official documentation and fee schedules.
- Regulatory body registries — we verify regulatory claims by checking the public registries of the FCA, CySEC, ASIC, MAS, VARA, and other relevant authorities.
- Exchange APIs — live price data is pulled directly from exchange APIs (primarily Bybit, OKX, and Bitget) to power our real-time charts and price displays.
- Direct testing — we open accounts on the platforms we compare to verify account opening processes, deposit minimums, and the trading experience firsthand.
Comparison Framework
Every asset page on ThePriceChart uses the same standardized comparison framework. For each platform, we display:
- Product type — whether the instrument is a CFD, perpetual contract, spot pair, or other derivative.
- Fees — spread in pips (for Forex brokers) or percentage-based maker/taker fees (for crypto exchanges).
- Trading hours — Monday-Friday for Forex brokers, 24/7 for crypto exchanges.
- Minimum deposit — the minimum amount required to open an account and begin trading.
- Regulation — the primary regulatory bodies overseeing each platform.
We present these data points in a consistent table format across all pages so that readers can quickly compare platforms without hunting for information.
Update Schedule
Platform data (fees, minimum deposits, regulatory status) is reviewed and updated on a regular basis. Live price data is updated in real time via exchange APIs. If a platform changes its fee structure or regulatory status, we aim to reflect that change promptly after verification.
If you notice any outdated or inaccurate information on the site, we encourage you to contact us so we can investigate and correct it.
Ranking Methodology
Platforms in our comparison tables are listed in a consistent order: Forex brokers first, followed by crypto exchanges. Within each category, platforms are ordered by a combination of factors including spread/fee competitiveness, regulatory strength, and general market reputation.
Affiliate commission rates do not determine the order in which platforms are displayed. We maintain editorial independence from our commercial relationships. A platform that pays a higher commission does not receive a higher ranking or more favorable comparison.
Why Trust Us
We understand that trust must be earned, especially on a site that compares financial services. Here is why we believe our comparisons are reliable:
- Factual, verifiable data — every data point in our comparison tables can be verified on the respective platform's official website or regulatory body registry. We do not make claims that cannot be independently checked.
- No bias toward brokers or exchanges — we list both Forex brokers and crypto exchanges on the same page, using the same comparison criteria. We do not favor one category over the other.
- No hype or sensationalism — our content is written in a neutral, factual tone. We do not use misleading language, exaggerated claims, or pressure tactics. We clearly state that trading involves risk of loss.
- Transparent affiliate model — we openly disclose that we earn commissions through affiliate links. All affiliate links use the "/go/" URL prefix so they are easily identifiable. Our full affiliate disclosure is available on the Disclaimer page.
- Consistent methodology — every asset page uses the same comparison framework, making it easy for readers to understand and compare the information presented.
- Regular updates — we review and update platform data regularly to ensure accuracy. Our live charts pull data in real time from exchange APIs.
What We Do Not Do
It is equally important to be clear about what this site does not offer:
- We do not provide personalized financial advice or recommendations.
- We do not manage client funds or operate as a broker or exchange.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of live price data, which is sourced from third-party APIs.
- We do not provide trading signals, alerts, or automated trading systems.
- We do not guarantee that any trading platform listed on this site is suitable for your individual needs.
Our Content Standards
All written content on ThePriceChart follows these editorial standards:
- Accuracy — claims are supported by verifiable data. We do not speculate on future price movements or make predictions.
- Neutrality — we present pros and cons for each platform type (Forex brokers vs crypto exchanges) without favoring either.
- Clarity — financial concepts are explained in plain language. We define technical terms when they first appear and avoid unnecessary jargon.
- Risk disclosure — every asset page includes clear warnings about the risks of leveraged trading. We never downplay or omit risk information.
- Multilingual accuracy — our Indonesian-language pages are written for native speakers, not machine-translated. The information presented is consistent across language versions.
